Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive an estimate explaining how much your medical care is expected to cost.

Under federal law, health care providers generally must provide uninsured patients and patients who are not using insurance with a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when care is scheduled or when an estimate is requested.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may be able to dispute the bill.
